FARM EXPLORERS

We're partnering with the Waunakee Village Center for another year of Farm Explorers! Join us to explore the park and learn about a variety of topics through fun, hands-on activities. Sessions will take place indoors and outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Pre-register now to reserve your spot. Walk-ins can be accommodated as we are able. *Registration is facilitated through the Waunakee Village Center's website, but we are committed to reaching and welcoming people from other communities beyond Waunakee. For non-residents, please contact us about offsetting additional registration costs if interested.

Friday, February 28th 9 - 11 am: Animals in Winter

Learn about local animals and hiberation through a story, craft, and guided winter hike. Activities are geared toward ages 4-8 with an adult, but children of all ages and abilities are welcome! Cost: $12 for Waunakee residents, $17 for non-residents*

Friday, March 21st 9 - 11 am: All About Owls

Learn about owls through a story, craft, and guided winter hike. Activities are geared toward ages 4-8 with an adult, but children of all ages and abilities are welcome! Cost: $12 for Waunakee residents, $17 for non-residents*

Monday, April 21st 9-10:30 am: All About Birds

Learn about birds through games, a craft, and a nature hike with binoculars. Activities are geared toward ages 4-8 with an adult, but children of all ages and abilities are welcome! Cost: $12 for Waunakee residents, $17 for non-residents*

Monday, May 19th 9 - 10:30 am: Tractors and More

Learn about historic farm machinery, do a craft, and take a wagon ride around the park. Activities are geared toward ages 4-8 with an adult, but children of all ages and abilities are welcome! Cost: $12 for Waunakee residents, $17 for non-residents*

Monday, June 16th 9 - 10:30 am: Play Like a Farmer

Tour the historic farmhouse, try out some antique tools, make butter, explore the heirloom garden, and more. Activities are geared toward ages 4-8 with an adult, but children of all ages and abilities are welcome! Cost: $12 for Waunakee residents, $17 for non-residents*

Wednesday, June 25th 9 -10 am: Little Ones on the Farm

Play in the garden, meet the chickens, take a mini walk, and more. Activities are geared toward ages 3 and under with an adult, but children of all ages and abilities are welcome! Cost: $12 for Waunakee residents, $17 for non-residents*

Saturday, June 28th 9 - 10:30 am: Prairie Blooms

Learn about the park's wildflowers as they change throughout the season with a story, hands-on activity, and guided exploration of the prairie. Activities are geared toward ages 4-8 with an adult, but children of all ages and abilities are welcome! Cost: $12 for Waunakee residents, $17 for non-residents*

Program fees are refundable when:

The acitvity is cancelled by Schumacher Farm Park
The participant cancels for a medical reason (a physician's note is required)
The participant un-enrolls 7 or more days prior to the beginning of the activity
