General Operations

Donations for general operations are highly valued as these donations provide flexibility for the nine-member Board to apply donations in the organization's best interests and needs that support our mission.

Event & Education Sponsorship

For years, the Friends of Schumacher Farm have offered the annual spotlight events, Heritage Fest and Halloween at the Farm. The newly added Music Festival is quickly becoming another popular celebration. Workshops, nature hikes and educational events are also held throughout the year. Click the link below for brochure details on sponsorship levels and benefits.

Vintage Machinery Shop Capital Campaign

The capital campaign is an extremely important step in building the future of Schumacher Farm Park as a Dane County historical site. Machinery of the 1920s-1930s farming history will be on display with periodic demonstrations of its use. With initial planning underway, the vintage machinery shop is envisioned in three components; machinery storage, repair shop and viewing area. Contributors to the Vintage Machinery Capital Campaign will be recognized appropriately within the facility.

Note that the Center for Rural History, opening in 2019, is the direct result of a prior capital campaign. Contributors are recognized with a permanent wall plaque within the Center. Thank you to all who contributed and made it possible!

Endowment Fund

A Friends of Schumacher Farm endowment fund has been established at the Madison Community Foundation to provide long-term stability and support for the Friends mission. While currently in its infancy at under $20,000, we believe the endowment will increase substantially to assist in expanding the educational and historic programs at the Farm.

Other ways to donate

In-kind, non-cash donations are also welcome. Old barn wood, metal sheeting, tools, grounds equipment, and certain household items come to mind. Click on the "wish list" of current specific needs. Machinery and items which reflect the 1920s through the 1930s are especially important in the expansion of our historical inventory. Contact the Park Administrator to discuss your donation.
